‘Round The Corner

2003 (6th Grade)

Hey you, what’s going on
What’s going on, what’s going on
Don’t you know my plans
Fo-o-or to-da-a-ay

I plan to walk around
Walk around, walk around
Every single corner that I ca-a-an
In o-one day

Then I will walk back home
Walk back home, walk back home
I will see you
And then I will sa-a-ay

[Chorus:]
Hey you, what’s going on
I’m heading around the corner
Why don’t you walk with me
Around the corner
The only place that I’m heading now
Is around the corner
Want to come to-o-o-o-o

And I said

[Echo:]
Round the corner
And round the corner
And round the corner
Then right back home

[Echo:]
Round the corner
And round the corner
And round the corner
Then right back home

Is all that I’m doing

[Chorus:]
Hey you, what’s going on
I’m heading around the corner
Why don’t you walk with me
Around the corner
The only place that I’m heading to
Is around the corner
Want to come to-o-o-o-o

Shadow’s Scars

April 2nd, 2011

Back in that house
I couldn’t be safe
The feeling of comfort
Was too far away
I thought I would die
I thought you wouldn’t care
Cause every time I cried
You were never there
The bruises have healed
But the memories stay
And two houses later
It hasn’t gone away
Because I cannot forgive
The things I’ll never forget
And everything I went through
Do you even regret
Only one scar remains
Because it was real
And though you won’t admit it
Time will never heal

Magic

April 22nd, 2010

I grew up on Magic Sands
Sailor Moon and Pokemon cards
Skinned knees from bike rides
Barbies with the girls
Games with the boys
Anything was possible
Until the streetlights came on
Sunsets were mysteries
I couldn’t read the clock
But I would wake up early
To beat my brothers to the Playstation
Overalls and dresses
Hiking and makeup
Childhood was everything
That is should be
Long days on Kristen’s porch
And sneaking into the hot tub
This neighborhood was an adventure
Long walks to the pool
Scootering through the laundry room
Bike rides around the block
My imagination couldn’t stop
But funny to imagine
I ever wanted to grow up
And funnier to realize
This made me who I’ve become
