Silent

September 12th, 2009

I tiptoe behind you
Silent and careful
I mustn’t make a sound
You don’t sense me
And your footsteps become mine
And to see the world
Only through your eyes
Would be a miracle
Because I’m caught in your drift
And I only see you
Slightly curious
Slightly stalking
You can run
And I’d keep walking
I take this trail
Without you knowing
You’re so emotionless
No feelings showing
And soon my path ends at your house
No other place that I should go
Ideas rushing too fast to slow down
Impulse is the only thing I know
And silence falls upon the night
A creaking sound outside your door
Was this the right thing to do
Falling silent on your floor

Bull Durham Credo

August 27th, 2009

I believe in the overuse and the bad intentions of the word love,
The emotions hidden in conversations,
The strong bond between best friends,
The unspoken but understood truth,
The simple smile from a good morning text,
The colors of the rainbow:
Angry, cheerful, happy, jealous, depressed, love,
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple.

But I don’t find myself believing in religion; because I can never believe in something I could never fully understand.

I believe in losing myself in my writing,
I believe in soda in the morning,
I believe in passion,
I believe in never fully growing up,
Night lights, piggy banks, teddy bears,
Sailor Moon, Hello Kitty, Hannah Montana.

Most of all, I believe in memories; because after awhile they’re the only thing that doesn’t change.

Note: This was a structured poem that I had to write for my Creative Writing class. A Bull Durham Credo is a list of the things you believe, followed by something you don’t, and structured into the form of a poem.

Her Name

May 20th, 2009

Her name does no justice
to the pain she’s inflicting

Her words and her actions
always contradicting

I’ve never heard lies
that penetrated me so badly

Whispering to me
it all ends so sadly

Too many emotions
caused none to be returned

This end must have been
something I’ve earned

I’ve never felt hate
like that which rages from you

And as you turned away
there was nothing I could do
