For the comfort of other people
I downplay my emotions
Will they ever know me
I’m going through the motions
I live behind a facade
Do they see my bluff
They say that less is more
So I starve to be enough
Letting people in is not safe
Though it’s something that I want
But I’ve lived this performance
With memories that haunt
Like a baby blanket
I carry these feelings around
I will never be who I want
If I never let myself be found
