Alone again
That’s how all my stories end
Who once was a confidant
Isn’t even a friend
There was no resolution
And no pages to turn
You struck the match
But I watched the bridge burn
Our time has run out
Merely seconds on the clock
So as we walk away
We let the final grain drop
October 7th, 2019
I don’t know what to tell you
Maybe I’ve said it all
I’ve tried to make this right
But you won’t answer my call
I wish I had some answers
But you’ve locked them all inside
When you promised me forever
I guess you must have lied
I told you who I am
You know me to my core
I gave you all I had
And I can’t give you anymore
I can only tell my truth
This situation’s rough
But after all we’ve been through
An apology is not enough
